Decisions on fable

The task for this semester is to create an animation based on one of Aesop's fables. This should give me insight into animation and the problems and skills that come with it. I have decided on three possible choices, The mountains in labour, the crow and the pitcher and the bald man and the fly.

The Mountains in Labour

http://www.aesops-fables.org.uk/aesop-fable-the-mountains-in-labour.htm

This is a story about the events happening at a large mountain in front of a village. There was a large commotion, with eathquakes, smoke from the mountaintop, trees crashing and rocks falling. Everyone feared something terrible might happen and gathered at the base of the mountain to witness it. there was a violent earthquake and a crack appeared in the mountainside, at which point a small mouse appeared from the crack and ran towards them.

Moral: much outcry, little outcome.

The Crow and the Pitcher

http://www.aesops-fables.org.uk/aesop-fable-the-crow-and-the-pitcher.htm

This story is about a crow that is dying from thirst, who comes upon a pitcher that once had water in. Most of the water was gone however, and no matter how hard he tried, he couldn't get his beak far enough down to drink the water. He placed a pebble in the water, and another, and another untill there were enough pebbles in the water to raise it so he could drink enough to survive.

Moral: Little by little does the trick

The Bald Man and the Fly

THis story is about a fly that lands on a bald man's head, over and over again, ocasionally stinging him. When the man went to swat the fly, he hit himself instead.

Moral: You will only injure yourself if you take notice of despicable enemies.
